Change semantic of a sentences on ' user guide '

First paragraph lies:

'It is this knowledge that we request that you help in documenting so that future users need not struggle to discover what you already did.'

I think it's better like this:

'This is the knowledge in which we request your help for documentation, so future users don't have to make an effort/ have to struggle to discover what you did already.'
