Description
Fabric.io is a popular crashlistics tool that provides more information for usage monitoring than ACRA, in addition to stacktraces that ACRA currently provides. There's need to explore this tool as the potential alternative for ACRA that's currently used in the mUzima-Android project.
Potential benefits of Fabric.io
The service;
- provides real-time performance monitoring for already deployed applications.
- provides a real-time detailed crashlystics tool, that will send objective insights in the event of a crash such as, device storage space, memory available on device, the screen/action the user was performing, the device OS version, the device model/make, number of affected users, sessions count and so on.
- provides retention analysis data, that will enable us to determine the application's retention rate, basically, how many devices retain the application after install.
- provides latest release monitoring and adoption analysis.
- crashlysitics will provide insights on adoption after a new release has been made, for instance, we will be able to determine whether 100% of our current users have adopted the newest released version.
